My last twenty something, and first mom birthday was a good one to remember! I woke up to a beautiful bouquet of flowers and sweet note from Tieba and Ezra. Ezzy then surprised me with an hour long nap. This allowed me to shower, dry my hair, and even straighten it- a very rare occurrence. After he woke up, Kelly and her boys picked me up and took me out to a delicious lunch at Central Market. We then retreated to her backyard and relaxed in the sun. After a few hours, I went home to get ready for dinner with T in Seattle. When I got to my condo I was greeted with a dress, new pair of sandals, balloons, and a plant- such a sweet surprise! We met at Daniel's Broiler and enjoyed some time just the two of us. On our way home we stopped by Nordstrom for a little birthday shopping trip. I couldn't find anything for myself, but of course had no problem finding some cute new suits for Ezzy. ...... Since my first year of teaching, I made it a tradition to take a personal day on my birthday (except for last year when the MSP landed on the 7th...). I must admit that when I woke up in the morning way earlier than I wanted to be up I felt a little sorry for myself that I no longer have "personal days" to cash in. I quickly got over it and realized just how blessed I am to have so many people that love me and who went out of their to make my day special.
